Construction continues on the new Buffalo Presidential Center Site

Until now, the BPC has operated without a permanent home space, relying instead on the collaboration and generosity of other local and regional organizations.

The Buffalo Presidential Center is excited to announce the creation of Buffalo and WNY’s newest history-based cultural space. With the support of Erie County and the Buffalo & Erie County Library, the construction of a 1,700 square foot public exhibition space, storage of our sizable collection of political artifacts, and a meeting/research area is nearing completion inside the Central library branch in downtown Buffalo.

Permanent and rotating exhibits will highlight the Presidents, presidential candidates, First Ladies, and other exceptional personalities who have called Western New York home. This new space will make our programming more visible and accessible to school groups, Buffalo history enthusiasts and presidential scholars. It will allow us to share the many stories of Buffalo/WNY’s prominent place in the national political landscape with local, regional and national tourists.

Our first public exhibit, “Donkey’s and Elephants: Enduring Political Images,” will open Fall 2020.
